Man vs Food
While on holidays I found show called Man vs. Food. I can remember seeing an ad for it and thinking what kind of an idiot would try to eat anything like that big, but then I watched it. I think the reason I have now become a bit of a fan is the way host Adam Richman still has such a love for food after everything he’s done.
Even still I keep thinking how bad those BIG eating challenges are, but my favourite episodes are when Adam attempts eat the things that are seriously spicy. Just to see the pain of the food and the tears running down his face is awesome. I love it!! What does that mean?
Anyway, I’ve managed to get my hands on the first season now and I find myself laughing right out loud at pretty much every episode mainly due to Adams comments about everything. So great.
New bedside table anyone?? How good is this.

I’ve found a great new blog
Anyone who is interested in reading different blogs on literature and the way literature is changing in the digital age, head over to The Smell of Books. It’s a great blog by Joel Blacklock. Everything I’ve read so far has been interesting and he shows his sense of humour quite nicely.
It’s been a long time
I’ve been away for a little while now. So many reasons for it - a holiday (without my computer!!), getting flooded in while I was at Port Macquarie making me stretch out the holiday another week, and then coming home to find my mother was in the hospital - she’d had two minor heart attacks while I was away. Mum’s home now and on the mend thank goodness.
The final thing that made my holidays so wonderful was coming home to find a pipe leaking in the walls of my bedroom. Wonderful! The smell was horrible and thank the Lord I had home insurance because I’ve had to get a plumber break into the wall to fix the pipe, then came the quotes to get everything repaired - the wall, ripping up the carpet, cleaning out the smell of the mould - so bad. The good news is that now I get a whole new bedroom for free!! Or at least the cost of my home insurance. It’s been about six weeks, the carpet doesn’t arrive for another two weeks, but all the furniture is ready and waiting at the store until then. I’m sleeping on my old mattress on the floor in my study, but in three weeks, I hope to be back in my room with my new furniture and all happy again.
Amazingly, I was able to continue my writing plans the whole time - spending the first two hours after breakfast writing. During my holidays I used pen and paper which was a great change, but when I got home I was straight back on the computer. It’s a wonder I survived a whole month without a computer. The last time I did that must have been sometime back in the 90’s I reckon.
Another Semester Done
Ahhhhhh, it’s so nice when everything is done for the semester. I’ve handed in all my assignment now so just waiting on the final outcome. Strangely I don’t feel as stressed this time round about my final grades - don’t get me wrong I still check everyday to see what’s happening, but I’m calmer for some reason.
The good news is on Friday I head up to sunny Queensland for a 3 week holiday, time to relax and great some warmth into my bones for a bit. I was at the shops today looking for something to eat in the food-court when I noticed that one of the bookshops that is closing due to Bankruptcy was still open and said up to 70% off. I thought I’d go in and look for some books for the holiday. I’m so glad I did, it was the final day the store was open so EVERYTHING in store was $1 for paperback and $2 for hardcover. I bought a stack of books!! Anything that looked good went into my bag and I have so many books to read now. I’ll have to let you know if there is anything good.

How good is this? Exactly what I want from literature.
